It is time to explore what our surroundings have to offer, while maintaining our physical health. Going outside to be physicallyactive helps increase a person’s mood, their fine motor skills, social skills, and personal wel-being. Never underestimate your ability to create and teach new games and activities.
Because I still want my students to get outside for fresh air and some natural vitamin D, I’ve gotten creative with one of my favorite units, which focuses on a standards-based approach with teaching opportunities in social and emotional learning.
