HALT is an acronym for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired. These emotional states or unwanted circumstances lead to unhealthy decisions. When we’re irritable and start to reach for a vice of some kind for comfort, we should pause and ask ourselves if we’re hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. But there’s one more situation I want to add to this list: boredom.
