Active Schools Us

by Rob Bisceglie. CEO, Action for Healthy Kids. Are internal learning mechanisms (not observable learner output) influenced significantly by environment, task and teacher in Physical education (PE)?

Reinventing the Game

I was watching a semi-pro football team training recently. They definitely spent a fair amount of time building up their capacity in various developmental aspects through different drills and activities. Especially in the area of set pieces and fitness from the short time I manage to observe. Different people were leading different groups. I can sort of make out who the coach, the physical trainer, the assistants, etc. were.

Reimagine the Role of PE to Reconnect With Your Students

Speaker: Jeremy Kellem, M.Ed. - Educational Strategist, Former Athlete, and CEO/Founder of W.I.N. (We Impact Now, LLC)

For many students, physical education is critical to becoming active and developing healthy routines. But how is this possible anymore with the repercussions of the pandemic? Years of COVID-19, social distancing, and virtual learning have all had a profound effect on students, which means educators need to adjust their classes accordingly. The good news is that P.E. can still play a vital role in helping students intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.

The Benefits of Playing Multiple Sports

Player Development Project

PDP Co-Founder Dave Wright & PDP Technical Advisor Dan Wright discussing the benefits of playing multiple sports. Models Based Practice: Games Education

Learning Through Sport

In a recent conversation on a games-based approach for physical education, I was asked about game categories as a model for conceptual or thematic curriculum. Game categories as a model for PE curriculum planning is a core feature of the TGfU idea. In addition to the four game categories common to game-based models, I have long argued the need for a category: Competing, to account for athletics, swimming, rowing (for example) and other sports that don't fit into the common games category of Inva

Physical education is an important part of the development of the whole person: physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
