Against all odds, he is alive and well today to share his story. The Reno team placed an endotracheal tube (a breathing tube to help his lungs inflate and deflate), but because of the gap in the trachea, air was not directing well into the lungs. He healed surprisingly well. The impact injured his neck and threatened his life.
