My name is Casey Page and I am a physical education teacher in Shelby County, Kentucky, which is a suburb of Louisville. I also coach golf and am an assistant athletic director at our school, but I have always thought of myself as a teacher first. As a PEteacher, you already know the gym gets stolen from you all the time.
Teachers recommended 24 fifth-graders and 24 sixth-graders, who were then split into two groups per grade. Over the last 5 years, I have raised $149,000 in grants, awards and donations for PE items, including the bike park and bike fleet. So, I made a presentation to our school team, and they were on board to do a study.

Fitness testing has always sparked passionate discussions in PE and sport science. Incorporate sports and games that resonate with them, this will enhance their motivation and participation in your class. For instance, popular sports like soccer or basketball can make the lessons more engaging. A lot of standards include activities like dance and gymnastics, things not everyone will relate to.

As a basketball fanatic and coach, I challenge all sports fans and caring community members to take a quick break from March Madness to advocate for one often overlooked part of our education system that is critical to the development of the student athletes who are wowing us during this year’s tournament: physical education.
Students can practice and develop body control, balance, mobility, strength, and more through the fun and exciting sport of gymnastics. Instead, PEteachers can introduce basic gymnastics skills in just about any gymnasium or space. Teachers can pair and match different drills depending on total class time.

The preceding words do sound like a tired teacher rather than reality. It is space and time that comes with joy and satisfaction in teaching and learning for teachers.
